Emergency Preparedness!

Man...what a scary time this is! I was listening to the news yesterday and I realized how easy we could all go over the edge. I was talking to DH about it, but of course he thinks I'm being melodramatic, but what would happen to us if some catastrophe happened in the US...another terror attack? Or a big bank closing and everyone panicking? I've decided that I want to be a little better prepared. I mean, even the government tells us that we need to be prepared for an emergency even if it's just a big storm or hurricane. I'm not having paranoid delusion! I just want to have some food in the house. Some canned goods, instant oatmeal, water. I want to have some cash on hand at home etc.
Are you prepared for emergencies? Are you worried?

Yes, I live with Mr. Prepared, so we are.
Anyone that doesn't have something set aside is a darn fool. I have lived through two hurricanes and you learn that fact real fast. Even in Kentucky we just had an ice storm that took everything out for over a week. 600,000 families.
Print this out and give this to your husband.
I have said this before what people don't realize is that without cash you can't buy anything not even a drink of water. The army brings in water when they can get in but you have to wait in long lines for it. Super market no longer work. All the big stores close and many have army guards on them. Gas stations don't either in most cases except the old ones and they run out of gas fast. Even if they can get food shipped in which many times they can not they can't sell it to you. The only place you are going to be able to buy something to eat is the little mom and pop stores and that is on
My daughter and I have lived through an ice storm, the Eerie loop blackout and a flood in Peterborough.
