HSBC Credit Card Shrinking limits

Well, it happened to me, too.

I thought I was safe from limit increases since I have 2 CC, both thru HSBC, where my savings account is, both had limits under $2K anyway.

Well, 1 is a reward card that (until January) I was using for food/fuel and paying off monthly for the rewards.

I love it! "Hide It" in the register. That is awesome. You can do it. Any way could make a little interest on it while it is hidden? Just a thought LOL!

I just don't get it. I understand the need to reduce limits, but going after people who have always paid on time doesn't seem to be the smart thing to do. Ah well, your almost debt free (happy dance) so those companies can go you-know-what themselves!!!!

Great progress! You should be proud!

I have to agree, and my only other question is, do they really think that there is a point of people having a cc with a $300 limit?

A card with a $300 limit is not worth the trouble.

EXACTLY.

I can not think of ANY circumstance I would have used this card for less then $300.

The last time I used it was October when my 2 best friends and I treated ourselves for an entire DAY at the spa.

Thats a good idea... I will look into opening a savings account with my local bank to tie to my checking.
