Now I'm starting to panick a little. Ahhhh....plan plan plan! I have so much to do. So much to learn and figure out. I definitely had a fantastic experience during my interview with all the people at the church and the choir, but transitioning from old church to new church will be difficult. Learning all of their different traditions. The pay was a little less than I expected. I currently make 110 dollars a week, plus about 7 dollars a week for my internet connection. The new pay is 160 dollars a week. It's $42 dollars more a week than I currently make, but I was expecting 180 dollars a week. I'm sure they are just starting this out as a base pay. And there are more opportunities at this church for extra income from special services like weddings and funerals.

But I have so much to do!

Congrats on the job! I know the pay isn't what you were expecting, but it is a raise over what you're making now! I'm betting you'll get a raise once they see what a great job you're doing?

Oh, I am just sooo happy for you. Anything worth getting is worth working hard for and the transition and the challenge of the new church will be a wonderful learning opportunity for you.

Did I ask you what denomination the new church is? Just curious as I grew up Catholic, went to a Lutheran church for a time and now we are at a Methodist church which is a really good fit for us.

You will do so very well, I am sure of it!

Thanks! It's all very exciting. It is a Methodist church. I grew up Quaker, but was too little to really remember what the Quaker faith was all about. My parents moved from Oregon to NH and there aren't any Quaker churches out here so they stopped going to church altogether. I started attending a Baptist church on my own when I was about 13. My mom was the pianist for a Methodist church for a little while as well. But I would have really considered myself a Baptist. Then I got the job at a Congregational church which was a real shock coming from a Baptist background!! They are very liberal and I never really felt that at home with their teachings although they have really made me question certain things. I've been doing some research on the Methodist faith and it sounds as if it will be a good fit for me as well. It sounds like it's a good mix of many different things while still keeping to the message and I really like how they want to get into some praise music. We couldn't even talk about praise music in the Baptist church I went to. It was like an evil thing! Hey - if you come across any fantastic songs you guys use at your church, I'd love to know about it.

One of the things I like best about the Methodist faith is that thinking is honored.
