Totally my fault, but my citicards payment was due on the 6th of this month, I logged in on the 6th and made a payment but it was after the time that it would post that day...so they posted it the following day which led to them charging me a late fee and then they increased my rate from 9.24% to 19.99%. I was sick! I called them last night and explained to the women that I did make the payment on the 6th and I have NEVER been late on this card in the 4 years that I have had it. SO she was kind enough to lower my rate back down to 9.24%. Thank GOd!
I just wish that sometimes these people would understand that life takes over and people sometimes forget things. I am very happy that she lowered my rate, and I totally learned my lesson.

Oh I believe they are totally aware that life takes over for people and we have to juggle so many tasks in our lives. I believe they bank on the fact that we will forget so they can get there late fee. I heard somewhere that most electronic stores make their money off of warranties. If you have not seen the movie "Maxed Out" yet, you should get yourself a copy and find out the how credit card companies work and most want you to fail. It has been and always will be a real eye opener to me. I watched it on Netflix on my computer and now have ordered it to watch for my FIL.

Watch out, they will get us every time!

You know, it always intrigued me why the cut off time was 2:00 or 3:00 when in this electronic age, you would think it would go to midnight.

I'm so glad you got a good rep who helped you out!

I have found a system that is working for me. I make my payments through my bank account (I have a branchless bank that allows me to make unlimited payments at no charge). Every time I have even a little bit of extra money, I send it to the CC (sometimes as little as $5). Each time I send something, it counts against the minimum. I often make the minimum before I send in the big lump sum!!
