Is it really all that bad?

I just read someone's post and it sounded so hopeless with regard to the economy.
Folks - 90% of people ARE STILL employed!

Hi, I live in MI, and it has been and is really bad here.
I think the original poster was just saying its important to realize that focusing too much on the negative sometimes results in us not seeing the good things!
As one of those in the 10% who have lost a job please excuse me if my outlook is not as rosy. I lost my job in December and was only last week that I was hired. It is part time but should go to full time I hope. Did I sit at home and wallow in self pity every day? No. Did I sit on my behind collecting unemployment because I would make more? No. I was out putting in applications, sending in resumes, and going over the want ads. I try to have a good outlook and yes, this did make me really take a hard look at my spending. Thank goodness I do have an emergency fund. I hope that this doesn't offend anyone but not everyone is in a good situation. I do have faith that things will get better. Just my opinion.

It is that bad. Have you looked at all the houses that have red foreclosure signs on the windows, that are for sale or rent? The families pulling their kids out of all activities because they had to give a car up and are now a one car family? The kids that are getting free lunches now? These are changes I see in our schools, our neighborhoods.
The media is simply reporting what is going on.
It's kind of pointless to get into these tussels on a message board, and I am a pacific kind of person.
Hi, Folks,
This all made me think of an article I read at the gym in this month's Town and Country magazine aout good manners in the recession....please go to the library and see if you can find it.
