So tired of winter

I am SOOO tired of winter and gray skies and rain. It has been six months now of gray skies, snow, rain, gray, a month of fog in there too and rain. Did I mention rain? I have to sleep with earplugs a lot of the time because the sound of rain dripping into the gutter is driving me over the edge...

Yesterday I went into the one slightly trendy clothing store in my small town on my way home from work (after I checked out the thrift store) and I couldn't find ANYTHING that wasn't a dull colour.

I am so sick of it and so depressed and drained by it...all I wanted was to buy one inexpensive new article of clothing in a spring colour and everything is gray and miserable still. I want SOMETHING the colour of spring, of Easter baskets and Smarties candy. Just a little pick me up.

Now, my job isn't permanent and I am trying to be good and save as much money for the summer when I won't be working and beyond that who knows when I will get my next posting, so I have to be careful, or I would head into the city to look for a pretty something in a pretty colour. But I can't do that because I don't trust myself and I will come home with more than I need or want and $200 will be gone when **if** I can find something in my area I would be happy with a new $10 tshirt.

Yes, I know I am whining but this last week has hit me like a ton of bricks that I am so sick of winter. Littles, if you read this, I finally understand your posts :))

Sounds like your part of Canada is having the same winter as the part of Germany I'm living in right now.

I hear you! I still have half a foot of snow in my backyard! Last week I had a really hard time. I was ready to just give up. I took a sick day and almost called in sick for the week.

I have started to take Vitamin D in the winter. I noticed that I stopped taking it the week before last (we had a few nice days and I thought I was good to go). Thats when I had the really low week (literally stayed in the house and slept most of the weekend!!!) I started up on it again and it seems to be helping. Maybe something to think about!

I live in the middle of Canada. It is brutal here. It seems like that taste of spring last week with all the melting picked me right up and now I can't even bear to look outside anymore. And all the talk of flooding........I am with you. I just want to wear a nice colorful t-shirt. I am wearing a turtle neck sweater right now with a big shirt over top of it and my fuzzy socks. Com onnnn spring!

It is snowing now, amazing how nice snow looks in December and how awful it looks now.

Everything looks so dead brown and icky.

I put some herb seeds in trays today, just to see new grow sprouting up.

On the good side, finally, the stores are putting their garden center tents up!!" To me that is a major spring is coming thing.

The stores are filling the garden and outdoor departments with nice weather items.
