My journey

Hi Ladies,

I'm not a ticker girl like Mary Anne but I wanted to post my numbers and have you all share some joy with me.

I still have debt (oh boy do I) but from where I started to where I ended - I am so proud of me and DH.

My eye opener / debt journey began in July 2008 when my DH discovered I was hiding debt. At that point we had about $28,000 in c/c debt. I couldn't (and never did) face the actual totals but it was slightly over $28,000 and BAD. Never late on cards (two of them) but they were getting maxed out.

Since July we have cancelled any auto pays on the cards (life insurance and water service went onto there) and we have worked HARD To pay off as much more on the minimums as we could. We targeted our biggest card with the highest interest rate.

We now owe on the first card (which started at a little over $20K) - $9,760.98

And on the second card we owe : $6,854.20

Making our debt total come up to $16,615.18.

This is still a crapload of debt but from where we came from - we are kicking butt! And we have a fully funded $1,000 efund and we have our Boston trip next week (fly out for a friends wedding) fully paid for.

I want to thank all of you. Seriously - you guys kept me thinking, accountable and positive. I know we can crank out the rest of this debt. I know we can. I am proud of everyone here on this board and I wanna say thanks!

I have always wondered about you! LOL! It really is no one's business what your debt is. A personal choice to not have a ticker is one's own. However, I never had any doubt from your posts that you were doing well. Congratulations, what an amazing job you have done in a short period of time. Nice to see that one big guy under 10,000 huh? Huh? Huh? Hehehehe, congrats. Have a great night!
