Leaving this Forum!

Just on here to tell others that I am leaving this support group. There is way too much "opinion" going on here than there is true support for a person's financial situation. Dave Ramsey, Suze Orman, the next door neighbor, who cares where ones finds help and support from as long as there is some kind of plan to get out of it.

Frankly I would rather take my advice from someone who has been where I am and has actually gotten themselves out of it.

Most of the time you ladies are right on but, there are some on here that have an agenda just like the ones they accuse of having one!

Everyone is supposed to be here for support NOT a scolding or given the opinion by someone, even when someone is NOT asking for the opinion.

People are not her selling Suze Orman's ideas nor Dave Ramsey's ideas just talking about what they are finding helpful for them or asking those that have gotten good advice from these financial advisiors what can they do to make there situation better.

No one has to buy these advisors products, no one is holding a gun to their head to do so. I have listened to Dave Ramsey(no, I am not promoting him)and he has many times given his products away and also has sent others to his FPU classes on him. As far as Suze Orman is concerned I do not know if she does the same or not.

This forum is not a debate about who or why we choose certain methods to get out of debt, we are just in debt and want to talk to others about getting out of it.

Since I have been replying on this forum I can count several times where the moderator had to come on here and remind some to tone it down with their opinion about a person's financial situation. I find this sad!

There are many forums out there besides this one and I have chosen to leave for my own sake. Good success to all of you in finding the best way to help yourselves with your debt situations, I know we will all be successful in we stick to a plan that works best for us.

Sorry your leaving...but I understand. Sometimes it is hard to overlook things (or people) on here.

Maggie,

Sorry to hear you feel this way. I can honestly say I have never found people on this board to be demeaning or overtly rude to others.

Difference of opinions - yes.

But that's human nature and you will find that anywhere you travel in life.

I hope I have never caused you to feel this way in any of my postings.

Best of luck in your debt journey.

Hi Maggie,

I fear your decision to leave the forum might rest, at least in part, to my posts.

I wish you all the luck in the world to find a path that works for you.

I know we get into these discussions all the time about stuff that maybe gets a little out of hand because in the end we are defending what we believe against someone that believes different. But In the year or so I have found for myself that in the end that is one of the greatest thing about this board. In defending what I say or the other person defending what they believe there is

I'm sorry you feel the need to leave the board.

I know lots of people follow different methods to get themselves out of debt.

Some people just get an "aha" from one person vs. another with reading their books, etc...
