I'm looking at spring/summer looming ahead.

What kind of expenses does everyone forsee looking in the next few months?

I find looking forward makes me keep in check with my budget. Just thought I'd make it a topic for discussion !

I think I am going to need a magic wand to make it through the next few months without adding to debt!

April: I should be OK for the rest of this month. Fingers crossed!

May: An overnight trip to my friend's graduation from med school - dinner will be expensive but dinner and gas for the trip will be my only expenses

June....a real month for me to lay low

July...$800 for tuition for my classes in the fall

...and somewhere along the way I need a few pairs of work pants for the warmer months.

Can I say YIKES?

Next week: Trip to Florida with best friend. Going to see my great aunt (she's 99!) and spending two days at Disney. Definitely time to recharge the batteries. Already paid for, minus one night at hotel and money for food/other expenses. Budgeted and taken care of.

Next month: Younger dd's birthday. ($80) Trip to Ohio to go house hunting. (Will be staying with inlaws...but are only driving halfway and staying at hotel on the way out there and the way back. Gas, food) Um, should be able to pull it off for $200.

Baby gift for sister-in-law's shower $50

June/July Hopefully will find a house. We have some money set aside for downpayment/closing costs. Will cost us about $900 to make the actual move. Will have to pay for Cobra if we can't find jobs to transfer to within our same companies. Furniture, baby stuff.

UGH. Pretty long list. We are just taking it all one paycheck at a time. We are putting money aside before we we even see it, but it all still seems overwhelming. Once we get where we need to be, then it will be SOO much easier to plan.
