After this year's tax season, did you learn from any mistakes? Will you do things differently next year?

I got a great return so I am going to do the same thing I did last year !

My DH did buy something for his work (police officer) and he can deduct those things so I did start an envelope for taxes for next year. I felt very organized in doing that.

This stimulus money in my paycheck worries me so I plan on transfering all the extra funds that I notice into savings. When tax time comes next year I will have that money if needed.

We had to pay a little bit, so we change DH's withholding yesterday for an additional $15 a week, just in case this new stimulas thing throws us off even more next year.

Can't say as I made any mistakes. But, one thing I will do differently is not have my DH deployed.

Pretty much the same as this year, just going to have a little bit more, like $50, taken out each month. Last year between tuition for my second graduate degree and student loan interest came to almost $25,000, but I could deduct less than $3,000 (go figure!). I would be done with this degree in about 4 months, and the amount of tuition paid will be less this year (as I was in school for the entire year of 2008), so I guess even less to deduct.

I'll be doing pretty much the same thing.
