I was home for 18 months when DD was a baby (went back to work 3 weeks after she was born and opted for a layoff when she was 5 months old, so I did get paid for 12 months)
I was an at home mom for 12 years, until my youngest was 7. You will not regret the time you spend with your kids. Now that my kids are all grown, I am so glad I spent that time with them. Yes, money was tight, and I basically had to go to work when I did because health insurance costs were crazy as my dh is self employed. When I was home, we did alot. I was a zoo member, which is so well
I am jealous as well....but I shouldn't be because I did get to stay home with my son until he entered school. I do think it's good that you can be there for your kids.
I wish I could cut my hours. I hate working f/t. I miss out on all my son's school-related activities. I am exhausted by the end of my day. I just feel like a shell of myself:(
Sometimes the tough decisions in our life end up being the right thing for us to do.
I like to look at all that I can do for my family that I couldn't do if I worked outside the home.

I just wanted to chime in to say that I quit my job in Sept. to be a stay-at-home Mom.
