Hi everyone!
I'm back from vacation ! Our trip to RI / Boston was amazing. My old friend from elementary school got married and it was a beautiful ceremony and reception. We took pictures on the beach and partied hard at the reception !
Overall we did good expense-wise. My DH had a large overtime checking coming in the day we left so I knew we had some "backup" money just in case. As it turned out we went $200 overbudget. We bought some souveniers for the kids and my DH wanted two t-shirts (Red Sox) for himself. We went to some nice dinners and had some drinks. It was worth it though.
We came home Sunday night and I went grocery shopping yesterday. Spent $82 at Aldi and $180 at our SuperWalmart. But, at Walmart I did get the kids summer sandals - $19 total. And a file thing for my DH's bag at work - $10.
We went out and got a ceiling fan with the OT money. I wanted one for our kitchen. That was about $70. And then I did go to the park district and buy our pool pass for the summer - $140 for a family of 4.
This should leave me to still be able to make a $800 or $900 payment to our c/c. That's a pretty good snowflake if you ask me.
Course, jumping right back into work today - working both jobs today but that's alright. It was worth it !

Sounds to me like going over budget was WELL worth it.
