I've noticed from some of the posts on the board that a lot of the ladies here seem to be the primary financial planner in the household and a lot of DH's/ BF's prefer the ostrich method.
My BF falls perfectly into this category. When we started dating we had about the same amount of CC debt.

I am no expert at getting through to my DH. I was hiding debt from him (long story) but now that he knows of the debt - he still buries his head in the sand.
He knows more about our finances and does ask more questions but he still spends freely and wants wants wants. I have to tell him NO all the time. I feel like he's my third child.
I just find that since we have joint finances (you obviously don't right now with your b/f) that I can just control the situation and tell him what to do ! LOL. This works for us right now. I have also learned that we both need little rewards for our hard work and debt journey.

I might be a tad jealous because I have often thought how much less stressed I would be if I didn't worry about money and debt, and bought whatever I wanted because I work hard and I deserve it. Unfortunately, if someone is not there to reign in the male species, people in vans show up and take your stuff!! LOL! Sorry just venting, not having a good day with this particular issue.
My husband works in finance and while he has a great head for investments and long term stuff. I'm better at the day to day running of things simply because I
