I am getting fed up with daycare interviews and people promising to get back to me and sign a contract and never do. In the back of my mind I want to go back to work, but at the same time I refuse to send my kid to do a job that I can do. So someone help me make this work! I currently look after 1 kid and get $750.00. Its a pretty guarenteed thing that she wont leave. So basically thats all the money I am making. My DH brings home 5,000 a month, but it just seems even though we have done things to make our life easier (sold a truck $6900, sold some things we dont need, ect, ect) it still doesnt seem enough. Just needed to get it all out!

I am having a frustrating day as well. It started out good.........Hopefully someone will sign with you soon and not back out. I have always said that moms are an unreliable source. By that I mean they constantly change plans, not all of it is under their control either. Just speaking from personal experience(myself LOL). Good luck.

I am having frustration from the other end - trying to find a childcare provider. I thought I had a really good lead but then she cancelled the interview, stating her child was sick....I don't know but that left me uneasy.

Childcare is hard to find!

Hugs ! Another stumbling block in life!

Nobody ever tells you when you have kids that daycare is SO expensive and trying to stay home with them is also so expensive. Catch 22, isn't it?

Chin up - you will find another daycare child soon.

I bet one reason day care providers run into such problems getting kids is exactly because of what you said

Sorry you're going through this. This may be a silly question (and Marie may be able to answer this since she is a marketing guru) but is it possible you are underpricing too much. Its just a question, I don't know the answer too, but if you are too low, could parents be wondering why? Something to think about!

It is ashame that you don't do seniors daycare. There is a real need for that these days.

Maybe rethink it

Also what about keeping the one child and take off some of the stuff as a lost in the business on your husband's taxes. That would help.

I want to second what a few other posters asked....

I used to do daycare myself -- for 14 years --
