Costs of things........

Holy smokes! When did bathing suits become so costly?

We joined the pool this year (yippie!) and I wanted to get a new suit that flatters me more than the cheapie one I have. I found a suit at Sams Club ($21) but you can't try those on so when I got it home I found the torso is too short. I am not overly tall (5'6") so I have no idea how taller people find suits. I had a few people suggest a two piece (tankini) but I am not thin (size 16/18) so those don't make me overly comfortable.

Anyway, ran to Kohls today - tried on some two piece suits. ONE piece was like $40. Holy crud. I can't afford $80 for a swimsuit. That's half the damn season pass for the pool for the summer!

Just bummed. Guess I'm stuck with my old one from last year. Oh well.

Oh I know. Every time I turn around something costs more. I find the cost of services are going up like for the camps I booked the kids and swimming lessons. But that sounds about right when they have to pay their employees more. It just sucks!

beepsmomx2,

I've had good luck at Target with one-piece swimsuits at reasonable prices...you might want to check there.

Do you have A Ross, Marshall's or a store like that close to you? I have had great luck finding great, flattering pieces (I am size 14, so that is not easy). One has to be flexible about colors, but actually with a flattering cut even a bright color can be OK (I have this crazy bright aqua suit that is really flattering, so the color does not take anything away...well, it work for my complexion, so it is not bad...

My shocker over a year ago was the cost of a haircut and style

I'm like you, I never have the time to go get my hair cut.
