I found the DSG about a year ago when I was fresh out of college with $6k in credit card debt, $16k in student loan debt and a 10k car loan. I found a good job, worked hard, started snowflaking and now I have no credit card debt, 10k in student loans, and 2k left on my car. Plus I have 4k in an Efund. Needless to say, thanks to the DSG I finally feel in control of my financial situation. You ladies are amazing.

Anyway, last night I watched the documentary "Maxed Out" and wow was that powerful! Five years ago I had no clue how damaging credit cards can be when you don't know how to use them, I think it should be required for high school seniors to take a financial responsibility class

Thank you for your post! I had read the book but seeing the movie was something else. I actually was crying a little bit with the lady that was going to lose her house that said she had thought about suicide. So many people in our society just do NOT get this! This affects everyday people so badly it makes them think about killing themselves!! I am disturbed on a whole new level.

I was the same way, there were many times I felt tears well up, I couldn't believe that mother was still getting credit card offers for her deceased son.

Here is another good documentary called "In Debt We Trust":

Calling the credit card companies predators is being polite.
