OK, I have made really good progress so far this year.

My Efund is a bit depleated and around $500 now, but I have paid $8500+ on CCs, and we paid the $3k for taxes in cash as well.

A gentle reminder about this board.

Our Debt Support Group is a forum where people can maturely deal with their debt and the emotions such as guilt and shame that come with it. To ensure this, we ask you to abide by the following rules:

Banish "You shoulds." We are here to acknowledge our personal truths, not to tell each other what to do.

Banish "How could you's." This group is a safe place to share a trying aspect of our lives. We are not here to judge each other or to put anyone else on the defensive.

Bring your humility. A humble attitude is important. No one is better than anyone else.

Foster a supportive environment: Remember, we're here not just for ourselves but for others as well. Listen openly and carefully to each other and share only what you are comfortable with, when you are ready.

When posting, please be considerate of each other's feelings.

This board is for our members to support each other and is NOT open for debates.

Lighten up, people. It is better to get laughed at on this silly board than in the boardroom. Clothes do not make the man (or woman). If someone wants to present a polished, professional image, proper grammar and good spelling are even more important than an expensive suit.

Look at this as a "dry run" for the dog-eat-dog business world ... I am sure the OP, an adult business woman, is more than able to defend herself, or laugh and let it go, without the need of being rescued by a babysitter.

It was rude and you know it. People come to this "silly" board for advice, not ridicule.

The op didn't find it funny at all and deserves an apology.

Sheik may refer to:

Sheik, Shaykh, Shaikh, Cheikh, and other variants (Arabic: شيخ‎, shaykh; pl. شيوخ‎ shuyūkh), is a word or honorific term in the Arabic language that literally means "elder". It is commonly used to designate an elder of a tribe, a revered wise man, or an Islamic scholar. Although the title generally refers to a male person, there existed in history also a very small number of female sheikhs.

It also refers to a man over 40 or 50 years old generally

And maybe those who call the pot black, have no idea if it is on or off the fire?

Some people who are heavy are VERY self conscious about it.

Sheik / chic talk and all - WHATEVER.

Marie - glad the meeting went well. And glad the suit you had made due for now. It's great to see people who work hard and get good things out of it. You are a good motivation on this board and help lead those (like me) who sometimes need an extra push.
