Spending money....

Why is it so HARD to spend money now?
My DH is excited about this band coming back together (CREED in case some of you are wondering) and I thought maybe getting him tickets would be a perfect Father's Day gift.
My DH hates sitting in the lawn section at concerts (too many drunks) so I was looking for seated tix and the cheapest they have are $105 per ticket. By the time you add on service fees and delivery charge (which means they put them in an envelope and send them to me via US mail but charge me $15 to do it....) the tickets came to $268.
I work hard as does my DH. 100% of our tax return was put towards debt. My MIL just paid off my DH's car (gift) and we are full speed ahead in debt reduction. So WHY can't I allow myself to do something nice that we CAN afford?
I am all shaky just thinking about ordering something for that much money. I guess my lifestyle / way of thinking really HAS changed.
DH works hard and makes good OT. He is a policeman and deserves to be treated to a nice conert out. I will get the tickets I just need to allow myself to spend the money !

I have this problem too. I even got anxious at Costco buying a lot of food. My bf thinks I am absolutely nuts!
I ask myself all the time........what is it going to be like when you are out of this personal debt? Are you going to turn into super shopper girl and buy everything you see? Naaaa, I think I will buy a few things I have wanted for a while then save for my goals(house, car, kids education, retirement. It is ok to buy things a long the way. Permission is the hardest step. Maybe one day we will find a balance?
Good luck and enjoy the concert(I even know who that is(creed) and like them!!)
I think that if we go through this debt battle without occasionally rewarding ourselves, we start feeling deprived.

Glad you got the tickets,
