Just having a bad day with debt and money in general.........What do you ladies hate the most about debt?

I hate it that my plans are put on hold. I feel like I can't move on from my divorce until this stupid debt is put to bed. I have tried to talk myself out of that fact and tell myself it is not true, but I keep coming back to it.

Needed to vent!

I hate the fact, that if we had played our cards right years ago, I would be at home babysitting my grandson instead of working.

What I dislike the most is when I look at what we pay in interest now for buying things that could have waited. Instant gratification isn't all what it is made out to be. My car will be paid off this fall and that will be so nice to be able to put a big chunk of that payment towards other debt.

My least favorite thing about debt is that I can never seem to get ahead now. I'm always behind the ball. Things happen like the kids have holes in all their jeans, or the car needs new tires and it just puts me a month behind again. Normal, everyday living expenses are too much for me to handle. Life just gets you down when your whole existence revolves around when you're getting payed and when the next bill is due. It's the whole hand to mouth thing, living paycheck to paycheck and I finally get all of those sayings.

What I hate most is the frugal living.

What I hate most about the debt is how I got the debt. I was always so careful all my life saved every penny and then went and bought things. I love shopping and now that I can't do it I hate that the most. I love pretty things and I hate when I see pretty things on the net I can't always buy them because I want the debt paid off.

I think this debt thing is even getting to Raymond too. He misses us traveling. We never went anywhere big but we always had a few hundred to go away on. Now we don't. You go out to dinner and then after you ate and paid the bill you wonder to your self was the meal good enough for the money we spent on it. That is no way to live.

I don't deserve this kind of a life and I think in the end it has effected my health Also I don't sleep like a normal person anymore. Now if something does happen health wise it bothers me more then it should. I stay in the house more then I really should because in my mind if I go out I will spend money I want to put on the debt.

And I hate this damn gray carpet that should have been replaced 4 years ago when we bought house. Hopefully I can start with the little rooms by the first of the year if not by May of next year If I live that long.

I hate that we're always living so close to the edge and I hate thinking about how much "extra" money we would have if we didn't have debt. DH makes good money, so things shouldn't be so tight, but because of choices we made, most of them foolish, we're barely making it.

I hate having to be the bad guy and say no all the time. BF has a much more lenient (spelling?) view of debt and finding a balance between frugality and enjoying life. I don't. I just want it gone so that I never have to worry about it again. I want to be able to buy things for my house, or my family without freaking about where the money is coming from. I want to be able to feel secure in my future while enjoying the present. I need to find balance!

I guess I hate the fact that life seems to be on hold and I am so far backward from where we were, when our kids have only a few years left with us.
