A $20 snowflake!

I'm thrilled! It's "only" $20, but it represents so much more to me.
Here's the story... A year and a half ago I got really frustrated because I couldn't find hairbows I liked for my girls' Christmas dresses. Over time I made more bows and found that I enjoyed it, but I had all this leftover ribbon. In a couple of weeks our church is having its annual strawberry festival and I thought about renting a craft table and seeing if I could sell some bows. I was talking about it on another board and I posted some pictures and someone asked me how much I was charging for them. I ended up making her 8 at $2.50 apiece (I could have charged more, but since she's a friend and my first "customer" I gave her a break).
I'm thrilled since this is the first money I've actually made in a long time. Now I'm really optimistic about my prospects for the strawberry festival and I'm thinking of setting up an Etsy store.

Dave Ramsey had this program on a couple of nights ago about Mother's making money from home.
There was this woman maybe you can look her up she is on EBAY that makes hair bows out of bottle caps and ribbon. She sells them for 3.00 a piece they cost her about a 1.00 to make. She said she charges 2.50 to ship the first one and .50 for each one after that. She said that the average order was 2 to 4 bows. And repeat orders were great. This is what she told Dave. In the last two years her business has really taken off. One time she sold 100 just to one person for resale. Now if I remember right she has hired on a couple of other mothers part time to help her.
She is making I think I remember correctly around 30,000 a year maybe more.
You might have found a gold mine there.

Oh that is so good! Not only a flake but potential for many many more! I bet it is not hurting the attitude either!
