This happens more often than not. Two big ones right now, divorce and credit card debt. Sometimes what happens to people when they get divorced is they are saddled with lawyer bills, and child support. But they still think they deserve to spend like they have the two incomes still even though there are now two different households going now. Plus they are going through a major change, depression, relief or some entanglement of the two.
I think this guy, judging by the picture and his credentials, knew exactly what he was doing and knew he could not afford this new house and or life style. It does not take a whole lot of common sense to figure out if you make 6,700 take home, give 4,000 to your ex-wife and your NEW mortgage payment is 2,700 you cannot eat(or do anything else for that matter)! It doesn't add up!
A person can be offered a lot of money, especially if they have good credit and a job. That does not mean they have to take it. The individual has to have some sort of accountability.
I'm not saying everyone has the knowledge to not be lured into credit by banks but some do and this is a prime example.
Yeah he has the love of his life. What do we have? Higher taxes because bankruptcy rates go up? Having trouble feeling sorry for this guy.

I don't think he wants you to feel sorry for him, just the opposite, he was actually putting his story out there to say "I admit I messed up, but the
after listening to the guy on the radio, and then reading the excerpt fromt the book, I have mixed feelings.
Everyone makes choices. I just have a hard time when other people's choices affect me and my family.
