A lot of us appear to be going through a rough patch at the moment.

I just want to say "Life sucks & then you die" -- that pretty much sums up my feelings at the moment.

Really...I just feel like all I ever do is vent and of course, nothing gets better but the fact that I keep digging myself into the hole worse doesn't help.

DH's hours got cut for most of this month work 35 hours, we already make less than we owe, so that wasn't helpful.

Not that into venting, but I do have a few things:

  1. B of A raising my rate when I have never been late, and my credit is higher than when I got the card, but because I live in Michigan.

1. May go into Default on my student loans June 11 (long story: followed advice of loan counselor following a job loss and I think something is shady with the whole thing). Trying to stop it now, don't know if I will be successful. Everything may be taken care of with a deferment or I might need to come up with $2500.00 by June 11 when I have no extra money...

2. Can't afford a root canal even though I have insurance. Sadly, the portion I would owe is still too much. Drinking room temperature stuff through straws and not letting anything touch it...

Other than that things are pretty good for us.

When the job loss happened we joined a debt management plan for the credit cards we have been carrying for 9 years since college. We have a lower total monthly payment for them and are finally paying the debt down. Yeah!

I tried to be proactive about the student loan thing at the same time. Unfortunately I thought I was pursuing an avenue to keep my loan payment within a range I could afford. Applying for the new type of payment took so long (again long story) that I hit the default date-ugh. So hopefully I will get the deferment until that can go through.

You don't want to put off the root canal...really, you don't.
