Not really but with all the news on all the different credit card insanity.

I recently got my 2 chase statements and no, they aren't raising my rates (I think they already did that), no they didn't lower my minimums.

Instead...they are giving me a skip a payment option for this month.

Chase is a very solid company that has taken less risk in recent years than many other banks. They have always been a little more selective when it comes to issuing credit...they were not involved with the shady subprime mortgage market. I have several family members who work for them, and while this has been a scary year for all involved in the financial industry, I have been grateful that my family works for one of the more solid companies.

Though I know this is a good way for Chase to make money (I am betting a percentage of people will take Chase up on the offer and the company will score some extra money from interest accrued), as a card holder since 2001 I can attest to the company being terrific to us.

When we ran the trucking company, I used our personal Chase card for fuel.

I got a notice within the last week or two that they are raising my rate on my chase card, we just got moved over there from WaMu, but I also saw on the bottom of my most recent statement the option to skip a payment.

I, too, had this offer on my most recent Chase statement. I thought this was a very strange offer in this economy but I'm sure there is something for them to gain from this.

We used to have 4 chase cards down to 2 now We have had some kind of chase card for at least 10 to 15 years and they have always had that practice once a year on the month that you took out the card.

I skipped a few times but most of the time I just paid the payment.

I had another card that did that too and I sent them the interest amount and they hit me with a bunch of charges but then the refunded them. Said you either send the normal payment or nothing no inbetween.

Just keep that in mind.

Wow, Mary Ann, that's horrible!

I get this "skip-a-payment" offer all the time from my MBNA card.

Kate

I must have written something down wrong.

I used to get the same thing every December from my union card about the skip payment thing.

A couple of years ago. I decided I would skip the payment but just send them the interest instead.

They got me for partial payment and getting behind in my payment. late fees and whatever
