I hope this will inspire someone

I've got a brag here - heck, I can't help it - but I hope the details behind it will inspire someone, I really do.

The brag is that as of today my snowflakes have topped $13,000 for 2009 (debt reduced by over 20k). But here's the part I hope might make a difference to someone out there:

On paper, we can't pay our bills.

I know it's easy to think "oh, can do flake because they make more money" but in our case, it's not because we do it easily. If we just took DH's paycheck and tried to work with it, we'd fall further behind each month. But he finds sidework and I do some work from home (online and decorating cakes) as time permits (I'm a homeschooling SAHM to five) and we've gone from "not enough" to a $13,000 snowball in less than half a year. And, for the record, our tax return contributed only $1,000 to that total.

If we can start in the hole each month and amass a 13k snowflake in just five months, anyone can find flakes!

Sarah, your blog is great. I'm finding it terrific for reminding me that no matter what your situation is, if you want it badly enough then you can find a way.

Boy, you've got that right. I hesitated a bit in doing it because I'm pretty sure our less-than-conventional methods would have me under fire (and probably will, eventually) but we're doing what works for us and it just keeps getting better. Sad to say the way June looks, LOL, but true nonetheless.

Thank you for your support!
