Payed off my car...One down...two more

Yesterday I sent off a check for 194.44 and payed off my car. I guess I have to wait for the check to clear before it's official, but it feels good. I now have 2 more debts to pay. One for about 300 to my dentist and another for $1000 to my condo association and I'm done...out of debt. Or, I should say, on to the next stage of debt...paying off my parents and getting our credit back on track and starting a downpayment fund for our next house. That is intimidating!

OOPS - I have to edit this...I have 3 more debts to pay...I forgot my Gap card, which has a balance of 300. I need to recalculate this it seems and fix my ticker!

Something happened to my tickers above so here's a new post so you can see how I've fixed my debt total.

Great job Abby

See I told you when you started on the board that you could do this. And you sure are. I wish my debt was as low as yours is now.

But it is a slow and very hard journey but well worth each and every step.

I know when the time comes and you start paying off your parents you will really start feeling even greater.

Oh does the car drive different now that is all yours.

I'm so envious. I'm still paying off my car...and I have a few thousand left to go. Enjoy it being all yours!

You seem to be one of those mom's who never sits still and I am so glad to see that you have it all together, even if you don't think you do. You are so close Abby!

Good for you! How long did it take you to pay everything off? Doesn't it feel good?

It took us about 4 years. We weren't serious though about paying off debt until the last 2 years or so. We also had a lot of help from my parents. They helped us pay off the first 20,000. We have personally payed off the last 10 thousand. It feels really good to have accomplished something so big and something we never thought we could do, but we did it. But the future is still scary as we think about how to fix our horrible credit when we can't get any credit. I'm sure I'll be learning a lot from this board about it when I'm ready to go on to the next step.
