I have $150 dollars a week budgeted on groceries. I'm trying to eat healthier and I know that Trader Joe's has some really great prices on things like frozen Alaskan Salmon and organic frozen fruit, so I make the half hour trek to trader Joe's early this morning and I'm feeling good about myself. I go to the children's consignment store that's in the same town as Trader Joe's and I have a 12 dollar credit. I find some shoes for my oldest son and some special calendula lotion for my infants' eczema. Then in the car, I realize that I'm in the same town as my credit union so I might as well swing on by and get them to give me a new pin number since I forgot mine and it's been driving me crazy all week! I drive an extra ten minutes to get there and lo and behold...the machine I need is broken. What a waste of gas! But I push that aside and go on to my other errands. By about the 6th store I was starting to feel exhausted and I went to my final store where I purchase this special milk in glass bottles (this equals expensive!) but very tasty milk and no plastic chemicals. I get home and I'm really tired and I start bringing all these groceries up to my 2nd floor apartment. I'm in a rush and I grab the bag with the milk and it RIPS!!!!! Both glass milk bottles smash into the tile floor and break. So I'm running all over the hallway with towels and tripping over bags and in a general bad mood now. That's 12 dollars of milk that was just ruined. CRAP! So I spent $140 dollars on groceries. I have just enough left in my budget to go back and get some more milk, but I'm thinking those glass bottles are just too dangerous. Maybe it's not worth the money because of the hassle. You get a deposit back when you bring the glass bottles back to the store. That's $4 dollars I won't be getting back.

OH that is terrible luck with the milk Abby. I hope your day turns around. Maybe some flakes will fall your way. And good for you for trying to eat better. That should, in theroy, make you feel better.

(((Hugs)))! We used to have milk delivery until about four years ago - that fresh milk was soooo good! The dairy part of the farm shut down, so that was the end of that. I haven't signed on with another local operation because of the expense.

Anyway, you have my sympathies. I ran errands with all five kids from 9am until 2:00. The charm wore off, I'll tell you! LOL.

BTW, congrats on the weight loss!
