with me.
I've been spend happy lately . . . with money that I don't have. My CC debt is up to almost $4000 again (I haven't been able to update my ticker yet - I can't bring myself to do it). The cost of finishing the fence, getting the new doggie to the vet and all her vaccinations was way more then I had anticipated. I also had to put my course on there $500. I still have a little bit of the fence to go too :(
I just made a payment today and I will have another $190 to pay tonight (selling some stuff) and when I submit my forms for my reimbursement from work, I will have another $80. It still feels like its one step forward, three back.
I am planning on buying a dog grooming table (~$150) and starting to advertise my services for *Just* bath, feet and ears (i.e. no shaving or scissoring yet). I haven't had the full course on shaving or scissoring so I am not comfortable doing it. Even if I can make an extra $100 a week, it will help me pay of this stupid debt!
My dad is coming this weekend so I have to set aside some money to buy groceries and take him out to dinner for fathers day. So far I have $60 set aside on top of the $80 in my gift fund. I

I was wondering how your classes were going.

I am sure you will pay down your CC in no time. If I remember correctly, there is some medical reimbursement coming your way soon, isn't it?
Just reading what you write/wrote, the only concern is if you spend the extra $150 on grooming table, and assuming there is enough potential customers out there for $100 worth of business a week, do you have time for that? It sounds like you have your hands full right now, working and taking this course. If I were you, I would probably wait till the fence is done, house totally organized, etc. before taking in customers.
Just my $0.02. At the same time, I totally understand your excitement and wanting to try your hands on spiffing up them doggies! ;-)
Find some old people's apartment highrise that allows small dogs and see if you can put a notice there. If you are cheap enough I bet you could make a killing just bathing dogs that way.
Us old people really need people to help us cheap

Got to tell this When we got our old dog Penny from the shelter she was on sale cute right Paid 20.00 for her. That night I spent 200.00 more at Walmart for all the other stuff she had to have or I thought she had to have. Then it was another 150.00 at the vet that week. When she was 3 months old it was another 100.00 to get her spaded.
Thank you all for your replies (and for taking it easy on the virtual kicking Sarah!!!).
You are all right. The only thing I can do is take a deep breathe and move forward.
I just started working flexible days so I have every second friday off. I think I am going to aim for a July startup for basic home grooming. If I invest in the table then I can start to groom dogs in my home or clients homes. To start I will only do the basics (brush out, demat, shampoo, nails, ears and feet) as I am not yet comfortable with clipping or scissoring.
I would need to do 4 dogs a week at $25 a dog (average, small dogs are less, big dogs are more). I could do that all in one day (Friday or Saturday).
Its definately doable. I just need to stop panicking and relax for a bit. I can do this!

What a beauty! I hear you on the dog expenses. We are ramping up for a round of spaying (New dog magic isn't fixed so everytime we go to the dog park, she is the most popular dog there, lol --> We don't take her when she is in heat FYI), heart worm tests for the three of them and heart worm medication.
All in all I am looking at a few hundred dollars in the next few weeks. We may be able to delay the spaying for a bit, but not sure how long. I don't know when she is due to go into heat and I don't want to deal with that. We just want to give her time to adjust to her new family before sending her off the the big, scary vet office, lol.

I do hope that people in Canada are not as sue-happy as people in the US.
I agree with Sarah, update the ticker and get the credit cards out of your wallet.
