Remember how I lost my diamond out of my ring last Friday night? When we got home that night DH asked if I wanted to go back and look for it and I said no b/c I was over the water the whole time. The little dock has been worn smooth over time and there are way-bigger-than-my-diamond spaces between the boards. The only "land" I was on was the boat ramp so needless to say, when the rain started pouring right after we left I was pretty darn sure that my ring would have been in the water, if not already.
One week later...
We went to the same ramp and when I hopped out of the truck I went straight to the end of the dock. I saw it almost immediately. It was SITTING THERE ON THE DOCK! I bet 200 people walked right over it all week and I swear we've had 4" of rain or more, and it was just SITTING THERE. It was in a tiny groove on one of the boards but it wasn't even stuck. I just picked it right up. THAT IS INSANE! Even though it was in a little groove, there was just no way it should have stayed there through all of that pounding rain and who knows how many people walking on it.
I HAVE MY DIAMOND BACK!!! We have to have the stone reset, obviously, but I am just STUNNED.
*Happy dancing!*

Now you have got to sit down and recount everything you did this last week. And keep on doing it. Because you must have been a very good good girl to have that happen Or you got a diamond angel looking over you.
Either way you are a very lucky lady and I am really glad for you.

I'm a lurker, but I read about your diamond earlier and felt
So happy for you!
That is so cool! The other posters are right, it will make your ring feel that much more special. When stuff like that happens it just makes you walk around all day shaking your head.
I have a similar story but with a different ending. When my oldest was a baby my husband and I went on vacation and stayed in a cheesy mountain cabin with deep shag carpeting. The light inside was very dim (one light bulb) and the carpet dark. For some unknown reason I looked down and saw the diamond had fallen out of the setting. I had no idea when or where as we had been hiking all over the place. I figured it was lost but my husband got down and combed through the carpet with his fingers and actually found it. We were amazed and happy and very carefully put it in a plain envelope, sealed it and packed it away for the rest of the trip. When we got home I put the envelope out on the table to take it to the jewelers and my husband didn't know what it was and threw the envelope away just as the trash truck was coming! We had to get another diamond after all. Talk about lost, found, lost. I'm glad your story had a happier ending.
I know exactly what you mean. DH is making, quite literally, more in one day now than he made in two weeks back then. He's mentioned an upgrade, but even if we had millions I'd still want the one/size he gave me. He could have gotten one much smaller to begin with, but he worked so hard to make it something really special and that will always be perfect for me!

Yes, He certainly was! Now I feel like an IDIOT for not going back to look sooner. But ALL of that RAIN! OMG. I would have seriously been LESS shocked to see DH walk across that water!
(((Thanks)))!
