1. Has the current economy changed your gift-giving habits? Are you getting/giving less? What do you think are good giftgiving guidelines for this current economy? Are you turning down invitations to events where you need to bring a gift? If you are having an event requesting gifts, are you expecting fewer guests or lesser-valued gifts?

No, no change in gift-giving habits. My decisions are more based on my relationship with the recipients and what is appropriate for the occasion rather than the current economy. I do, however, accept very few invitations because I don't feel like wasting time with people I have little in common, just to be nice/social, but that has nothing to do with the economy.

I never have any event that "request" gifts; that would be very crass.

2. What's for dinner tonight?

Don't know yet. Heading to the farmer's market in a little bit, depends on what looks good.

3. Do you belong to any clubs? What kind? Why did you join or start the club?

Not sure what you mean by clubs. Belong to a couple professional societies (networking, learning what is new, etc.), a few charities/conservation groups that I donate money (I believe in their cause), and a health club (to stay in shape - weather where I live is not always conducive to exercising outside).

Gift giving. I am on the re-gifting band wagon right now. I get so many things given to me (hand soaps/lotions etc) it seems silly to waste. I do believe it the thought that counts so even a couple of chocolate bars and a card should be enough for most things?

For dinner tonight? My mother in law is making salmon! I know, and I am aware that I am truly spoiled!

Clubs. I do curl in the winter. I find helping the kids with their activities keeps my pocket book empty and my calendar filled. Oh and I also belong to the "Laundry club" LOL, that takes up a lot of my time!!
