It seems like many of us on this board have so many responsibilities, work, school, church/charity/volunteer, raising a family, home repair, juggling finances, etc. It may be social-cultural, it may be "hardwired" into our brains, that most women have this caretaker mentality and always try to do everything for everyone.

So the question is, if you have 24 hours that you do not have to work, cook, clean house, shuttle children around, feed the dog, absolutely nothing that needs to be done, what would you do?

I have several ideas, but to start with, I would like to stay in bed for as long as I wish, get up, shower, go to a little cafe and have a relaxing breakfast/brunch outside, people watch, then come home, curl up with a good book and read it from cover to cover without stopping. Maybe nibble on a few cookies and have a cup of tea when I am hungry (just dessert, ha), and end the day with a long soak in the tub before going to bed.

Come to think about it, this does not even cost that much. Perhaps if we have more time to relax and not be so stressed out, some of those impulse shopping incidents may go away? Just a thought.

Anyway, what would your "dream" day look like?

Oh I so need one of these days! I like the idea of sleeping as long as I wanted. Some days that would be until 10, some I might be wide awake at 6 or 7 just from habit. I would love to go to the spa........and get a pedicure. I usually save for that little trip once a year. I would also love to read out on my little patio then cook something I really like(or better yet, have my bf cook something I really like). I find walking relaxing so if it was not too hot I would like that too....I need to go into the city and have lunch with my girlfriend. I miss her. Lots of possibilities!

Ijust have to start by saying that my DH is just as busy as I am as he is right there with me doing all that needs to be done.

But I too would get up early as I love summer mornings and always get up before the alarm at 6 anyway.

I'm a SAHM to 5 and we homeschool, PLUS I work from home, so I definitely don't get much time to myself. I do have what I like to call "Mental Health Day" (and no offense to anyone with real mental health issues, of course) where I take all five kids to my mom's house first thing in the morning and leave them there until after dinner. It's the first weekday of each month that she's off from work, and I LOVE it! I usually work on writing my novel or read. Rarely do I do any housework other than laundry, and sometimes DH surprises me by coming home for a long lunch - and he brings the lunch. (Whatta guy!)
