CC's are monitoring your purchases...

Heard about this article on public radio today. Very interesting. It's titled 10 purchases not to put on your credit card. It talks about how they monitor you and certain purchases you make can hurt your credit.

Very interesting. I understand that American Express has been doing just that for a long while now. It is so sad.

I think some of the items in the article are certainly red flags, such as traffic tickets, but they also look at out of character spending. If you have always put your dollar store purchase or your pedicure on the card, there is really no need to stop doing it now. I have been paying for my facials and laser (about one every 6 to 8 weeks) with credit card for years. So far they have not raised interest and/or dropped credit limit.
My AMEX s a business card. They send me a statement with different spending categories which makes it easier for me to track my expenses.
I also think since I do not carry a balance, that in itself speaks louder than whatever items I purchase.
