when they check their banking account balances? Everyday I log onto my banking website with a nauseous feeling in my stomach. I don't know why. SOmetimes I admit I do run a little close in my checking account, but I shouldn't be feeling this way.
I just want to see if anyone else feels this same way?

I can't say I've gotten sick about logging in to check accounts BUT I used to feel sick over money sometimes. I found that the sick feeling tended to come with feeling out of control. To get rid of it I did two things: Started by creating a buffer in my account of $100 that sits there no matter what ($100 is my $0 and I don't even count it towards efunds, savings etc). This way, if I goof, there is less chance it will ding me.

The second thing is keeping track of everything that comes in and goes out of my bank account. I know when all bills are due, what checks haven't cleared, what comes out automatically, then I round up (i.e. a bill is 132.45 and I record it for $135) Again, giving a bit of a buffer in case of an oops (and this is

No, I don't get sick to my stomach, I'm just so damned obsessed with numbers and my budget, it's like my mind never rest.

I think part of my problem is the fact that I am still using my debit card for all of my purchases. I must say, I am only using my debit card so it comes right out of my account and it posts to my account immediately, but I really need to get into the habit of just getting a certain amount of money each week and using real cash instead of my debit card. Plus I think I really need to try to budget somemore. Right now I have a spreadsheet of my income and husbands income each week and then what bills will be paid that week. I do not include groceries in that or "coffee money". I really need to get working on that. I really just don't know exactly how to fit the grocery money in because it seems I am always going over that.

The grocery store is a place where you can really blow a budget pretty easily and once I reigned in that monster, the rest was much easier.

I budget $150 every two weeks for groceries (includes toiletries in my case.)

It is a pattern well learned. After years of living too close to the edge we recovered and paid off our debts. Our incomes improved and we live a debt free life now. Except for the mortgage.

But still, my stomach gets sick when I check the accounts. All accounts. Credit cards and checking accounts. I feel as though I'm afraid it'll all evaporate or suddenly I'll forget to pay a bill.

But some of mine is rooted in an OCD type personality. Checking and rechecking......
