What ever you do DO NOT CANCEL THE INSURANCE YOU HAVE NOW UNTIL YOU HAVE THE OTHER INSURANCE IN PLACE FOR AT LEAST TWO MONTHS.

In insurance land there is such a thing as continuest coverage. Please excuse misspelled words my spell check on this is not working.

If for some reason something does happen to you then the insurance "new" one can come back and refuse

I know a lot of people who feel like paying for insurance that you never actually needed

Just my opinion but I wouldn't cancel insurance unless you have another plan in place first.

I totally understand what you are going through. Now my cousin at one time she got one of those policies that paid so much on a day as long as you were in the hospital. I know that is not much but they are considered in some case continuest coverage. AAA also has some of those kind of plans. We thought about getting one ourselves before I got sick Now we would be paying for nothing for me.

My son has always had humana and for a single with a 2500.00 dedutible his was running around 200.00 a month and he was not in a group Just got it from the company as a single man

I have a friend in Ohio. She is a diabetic and her husband lost his job and they didn't get cobra for some reason When he got a new job and tried to put her on his again They would not pay a thing on her for

Have you looked into a catastrophic plan? We had to do that for a while when my husband took a new job and we moved. A lot of companies offer them, I know that BlueCross BlueShield used to have one. They are relatively inexpensive and cover major emergencies only. It wouldn't cover office visits, but would give you piece of mind in case something serious happened. That could help you save some money and bridge the gap until you could afford the newer insurance. I believe you can carry that type of insurance for up to six months. Try googling it and see what you find.

Good Luck...samey
