Just one more thing!

I posted a video of my son dancing in the car on youtube. I didn't want to make it public and I have posted video's privately before to send to family, but I did anyway. So the first comment I get from some lady is that my carseat doesn't fit my son and I need the next size up. I have this HUGE baby. He's 20 months old and 32-35 pounds. He's as tall as a three year old! I knew that he was outgrowing his carseat, but I honestly didn't think there was another carseat after this one until the booster seat and he's too young for a booster seat. I go online to check out these higher weight limit seats and they are SOOO expensive! The cheapeast I found was around 200 dollars from some discount website. The regular ones from babies r us are $279 and up! I definitely do not have the money for this right now. It's going to have to wait a month, but it's so depressing to not even have the money to keep your kids safe!

Here's the link to the video.

Abbie, you might want to check into the Safety 1st Apex 65 carseat. It is designed for bigger toddlers. I also had issues with having a DS outgrowing his seat way too fast and didn't want to spend $200 for another seat. I found this seat and it worked great for him. It has a 5 point harness that fits kids up to 65 lbs. Without the harness it can be used for kids up to 100 lbs. The headrest is adjustable for taller kids. Here's the link to the manufacturer's page: http://www.safety1st.com/usa/eng/Products/Travel/Car-Seats/Booster-Car-Seats/Details/1801-22535CDE-Apex%E2%84%A2-65-Booster-Car-Seat

The suggested price is $129 but you might be able to find it cheaper online.

OMG!! That was hilarious! What beautiful children Abby! I love that black eyed peas song!! Its my new fav.

Yes, it does seem to be pretty expensive to keep getting the kids things....I am in your boat. But you are working on it! And just think, one day(because of all your hard work)......you will be able to get a bigger place for that big baby to live, he is going to get bigger!

I guess we are doing the one step forward two steps back dance but we will all still get there!! Chin up Abby.

I purchased a Safety first carseat that is called an all in one (or 3 in one) it is currently a rearfacing that can be front facing when the child is bigger and then used as a booster seat once they have outgrown the harness. I have used it for my 9moGD and also for my 2 year old niece. It was $129CN.

Cute child.

Get the phone book out and start calling around to all the kids consignment stores. I bet you will find one there cheap. If they don't have one maybe they would be willing to take your name and number and when comes in they will call you. Worth a try anyway. Also put an add on Craigs list and cheap cycle and even look on Ebay.

Check out the Graco Nautilus. http://tinyurl.com/6qqxbr You can keep him harnessed until 65 lb and then you can use it as a booster. My younger two are in Britax Marathons (rear-facing to 35 lb, forward facing to 65 lb) and we recently moved my older DD to a Britax Frontier (harness to 80 lb, booster to 100). I love Britax seats (the Frontier was a PITA to install, though) and even though seats that keep the child harnessed longer are expensive, I'm willing to spend the extra to keep them harnessed longer. I think I would consider spending the extra, even if I had to add to my debt to do it. IMO, a 20 month old is NOT ready for a booster. I still have my 16 month old (27-ish lb) rear-facing and plan to keep him that way until he's too big.

He's still too little for a booster seat yet though. Since he is such a large baby, he is about the size of a 3 year old and he isn't even 2 yet! So I still need the 5 point harness to keep him from getting out of his seat. That's where my problem lies...
