Ok I admit it I have no will power or at least find it hard to break old habits. Thank goodness the Debt Reduction Fairy was watching out for me.
I have a big job interview (another post, another time) in 10 days. I have mixed feelings about it because although we need steady income from me I have worked incredibly hard in two years getting my freelance business off the ground and it is just starting to succeed. Anyway, I have sadly gained a lot of weight while home and have no good grown-up clothes so I decided to buy myself a corporate looking suit. I went to Dillards for the splurge. I found one nice interview suit and a beautiful black blazer marked down from $200 to $38 (!). I decided to buy the suit, the jacket and a pair of black pants to go with the jacket. It came to several hundred dollars. When it came time to pay I said I used to have a Dillards charge a long time ago but they couldn't find it and offered to open a new one. I said yes (bad, bad). But then for some unknown reason it didn't go through. I think I was declined. So I paid cash.Thank you debt Reduction Fairy.
I had rationalized that I would immediately pay off the bill even if I had charged it but my track record on that is not so good. Now it is not an issue. I kind of hate spending the money on clothes (especially in such a jumbo size when I'm trying to lose weight) but I have nothing but sweats in my wardrobe now. I always believed it is better to have a few very good pieces than a bunch of cheap looking stuff. Maybe more rationalization. But at least I didn't charge.

I wish you lived near me. I have tons of stuff in my closet that I can not wear that still has tags on them. I could pass
