Our car is dieing!

I've talked about our car before. The mechanic basically told us to drive to the ground because it chuggs oil so the engine is old, it has 180K miles on it and it needs a new catalytic converter and a new clutch and who knows what else. It has been progressively getting worse to the point now that we've grounded it to trips inside our own city and I have to use my husbands piece of crap car to go to lessons or take trips. We talked about it last night. How are we going to get a new car (new to us, that is!)? I know that this month it will be really hard to save. I can possibly save $300 this month, and next month I may be able to save $500, but basically I'll need a good 3-4 months to save around $1500-2000 in order to go to a car auction and see if we can get something decent. It's a goal...the real test of our saving power. I should make a ticker!

Oh Abby good luck.

The bf and I have a new car and a really old truck. A new vehicle is not in my plan right now!! This could happen to us too (although a new engine is in it now) but anything could happen. I hope it hangs on for a few years(like 6 LOL) We will see how it goes!
