I'm back

A month or so ago, I came here completely scared and overwhelmed about what to do with my situation. We have a ton of debt, and I hadn't balanced or opened my bank account statements in months.

Well, I have in the past 2 to 3 weeks, opened up all of my mail. I've filed and purged as needed. I also updated quicken and also tracked all of my spending for July. I'm still not caught up on my bills but I do feel a sense of control of knowing the total debt number and also being in control of my checkbook again. I have also packed lunch every single day to work as well as DH's.

Moving forward my goals for August are:
*catch up on my utilites
*set up either payment plans or call CCS to help me with my debt
*continue to carefully track my spending

Great job! Sometimes the worst part about the debt journey is not knowing!

Congratulations, you are off to a great start!

Hey Norma,

Have you tried making a little extra dinner and then packing your lunch for the next day while you're cooking?
This is what I have started to do. I treat my lunch bag as the "third dinner plate" so when I serve BF and myself, I also serve my lunch box!

My biggest beef (pardon the pun) with bring my lunch is 'where to eat it'.

I know what you mean!!! I hate sitting inside looking at walls!

What I do now (not sure if this would work in your type of job) is eat at my desk while I'm working. That way I can use the kitchen to heat up everything. Then I take the lunch break and go for a walk to get out and get some exercise! Of course, I am a grazer so I eat little bits all day (its actually a joke in my office! If there's ever a famine, head to my bottom drawer, there's always food in it)

Norma
what about taking a book or magazine to work and reading it in the kitchen while you are having your lunch?
