Well...I managed to miss a cc payment last month. It's not like me at all. Have been doing so great paying down this card (the one we had to put our taxes on this year). I completely forgot about it last month, and poof, we went from 0% interest to 32.99%! They won't budge. Guess they want us to move the $, which we'll do, but yowza.

All my best,

This is why I'm determined to live a CC-free lifestyle.

That is just criminal -- literally. There was a time in this country when those kind of interest rates were illegal. It was called loan sharking. I am so sorry that happened. I've had some cards raise their interest (and I opted out since I never used them)but nothing like that. I suspect it was because they wanted out of the 0 percent. Still, what rats! I just had my personal line of credit lowered from nearly 30K to 16K which is about what I owe. I suppose it is OK because it is too easy to transfer mjoney out of that account but still....

What!!?? I didn't even know that was possible, 29 was the highest I'd ever hear of...

I would ask my State Rep about that one. What company is it?

Even Tony Soprano didn't take this off the top....

Simply rotten and the government is too late on their attempts at credit card laws.

UGH...that's just disgusting. They really do know how to kick us when we're down -- the whole system is deranged, set up to take the most money from those who can least afford it. GROSS.

I don't understand these companies. Do they not understand how bad mouthed they actually get with rates like this? I am so sorry this happened. I know this may make your struggle more difficult but keep at it. Maybe you can transfer the balance at some point down the line. Don't give up!

That should be (and hopefully WILL be) illegal! Any chance of opting out of the card?
