Where won't you cut back?
| Tue, 08-18-2009 - 5:39pm |
We all know the economy is in the toilet at the moment. We're bombarded with reminders every time we turn on the news or surf the news sites.
Most of us here on the board are struggling to either make ends meet or stay afloat.
That said, is there an area of your life where you will not cut back? For example, do you insist on organic produce or meat? Do you always buy your vehicles new? Are you a latest gadgets guru? Where (if anywhere) do you choose not to cut back?

Things we won't cut back...
1) Our satellite TV package, neither DH nor I get our football games here and DTV allows us to watch them.
2) My daughter's diapers and wipes... I buy huggies brand and anything else makes her break out especially generic store brands. It's temporary but it can be a drain.
3) My once a week latte from Dunkin' Donuts, it's not very frequent and I use my fun money. Also, in that vein, my Yankee candles. I tried switching to Wal-Mart brand but they don't scent the air as well.
You are such a great online friend :) Thanks for getting me off the pity princess crap and back on track.
You're right...I will maintain focus on the positive and remember my once seemingly impossible achievements (when people find about my hectic juggling act at work and home they often end up looking at me like I'm turning into a Unicorn)
I will reject negative thoughts and comments from myself and others and keep striving towards my goals.
Gal, it is AMAZING the positive thinking and support you possess and project to all of us on this board!!!!! I'm so glad I met you!
P.S. I just rented Ramsey's book from the library today...lets see what I can apply to improve some more.
I won't cut back on buying fresh produce (vs. canned), especially when it is in season.
I won't cut back on good toilet paper (my husband keeps trying to buy one-ply, and I can't handle it).
I won't cut back on monthly date nights with my husband. The time OUT of the house alone together is really important for reconnecting. We might not go to as many live concerts or fancy restaurants for date night now, but the night out is a must.
I jumped on the blog bandwagon:
