If you didn't have to pay CCs ...

What would you do with the money?

If you could take the money you are now paying to CCs, or other debts you have, what would you do with that money every month?

For me it would be home repairs and cutting back to one night a week teaching, still working my regular job.

I dream about this all the time!

The first thing will be to increase my savings amount by a few hundred a month. I like having a cushion there for emergencies!

Then I would do some home repairs. I need a new fireplace insert and have been putting that off for ages now.

Other then that, I would increase my fun money. It will

I believe I would just skip to my next goal which is a combo deal. It includes saving for my kids education and paying down my store credit line. If I didn't have my land and building or store credit line then I would pay myself more and concentrate on new house savings. We would like to build at some point. It is all in the plan....it is just going to take years!!

Hmm. I would put the money in savings for the first few months, so that I would have a nice chunk for a new car; poss pay in cash. Other than that; just keep building up our accounts

If I didn't have to pay my student loan payment and my few small credit cards...I would up my 401(k) and also start saving for a down payment on a house.

I would put it on the LOC's that we have so then after they are paid I would save for reno's that I would like to have done, new kitchen, 2nd floor deck, the kind of things that are not a need just a want. Save for another trip to UK. I already have savings in place for my GD's education and my kids are finished their schooling and have their payment plans in place for their student loans so I don't need to worry about that.

CCs are the least of my problems, amounting to little more than $100 if I paid minimum payments.

Other expenses/debts kill me... and there's little I can do about them.

We would get my dh a new pickup. His current one was perfect for the cash for clunkers - 1986 3/4 ton Chevy

If that money wasn't going to CCs, I'd definitely do some work around the house.

Our only debt right now is our mortgage.

Actually we plan / hope to have our final c/c paid off in January if not sooner. SO, we will have extra $$ but that will also be the time my unemployment runs out and so that will mean our income drops down about $1200/month.

I work what was a second job at night (now is my only job) but that is VERY speratic pay and it could be one night a week, four nights or none. I plan on keeping that job but will most likely stay home w/my kids after unemployment runs out. We will be ok because most of my income now is going towards eliminating the c/c's anyway.

However, what would I do if I was still getting an income and my c/c's were paid off:

Extend our closet in our bedroom to a walkout. We would use our overhead loft space and not have to lose space upstairs to do this. Cost : about $1,000.

Extend our deck in the back to wrap around the entire back of our house. Would double deck size. We are out there a lot in the summer and we enjoy our deck. Cost : about $1,000
