Lol totally off topic!! I finally had enough hair to donate to locks of love (makes wigs for kids with cancer)! I had 10 inches taken off!! Egads! I don't even recognize myself!! I hadn't cut my hair in almost 18 months so it was nice to get a really good cut!!! Of course, now I will have to get it cut every few months, so I suppose this doesn't help the debt issue, but whatever!! I am good with it! The best part is, not I can start dying it if I feel like it (I couldnt' if I wanted to donate!!!)

oh my. That's a lot of hair. Good for you! I have started to do a few more charitable things myself and I am glad I did. It makes me feel more complete and takes my mind off my own(seems small compared to other peoples) problems for a little while. Maybe the Karma fairy will bestow me with some kindness.

Does it mean you get to move your weight loss ticker? 10 inches of hair is at least one pound!

I've done it twice now and am halfway to my third time. You just can't beat the feeling. I donate to Pantene's program. The nice thing about theirs is that they only need 8 inches.

Hi Norma,

They do take gray hairs, lol. I guess since they are combining all of the hairs to make a wig (it takes 8-10 donations to make one) they have a way of making the colour uniform.

Congrats on doing that. My dd has done that twice, but both times she shaved her head completely, she wanted to be able to give the kids the longest hair she was able to do. The first time was the morning after her graduation, she didn't even tell her friends that she was doing it, so everyone got a surprise when they got to school on monday. My mom has also donated her hair, she has little to no grey in her hair, I make up for it lol. I dye my hair so I can't donate.

That's great, Bex, what a terrific thing to do!!

Whenever I get a drastic cut like that I always really notice it when washing my hair.
