Hurray for three paycheck month!

Especially when it coincides with "you maxed out your CPP" month, lol.
I had an extra $200 AFTER paying off all my bills AND my spending money AND my debt commitments (the amount that I am forcing myself to pay each month above and beyond the minimum). So instead of only putting $75 on the Brick card ($2000 no interest for 8 months on part and 15 on the other) I put $200. I have to get $1000 paid off in 8 months so there is no interest but I am going to try to get it all paid off in that time! I also kept another $80 for my trip to see my mom for gas and such (always comes up).
As an aside, my girlfriend and her bf were over last night and he mentioned that he has a tile saw. He thinks we could easily retile the kitchen in a weekend (I have all the supplies . . . I was going to do it with a friend last year but he moved and I don't have the equipment to do it myself). With BF gone for two weeks, its the perfect opportunity to tear apart the kitchen and redo the floors . . . for about $100!! Can't complain there!!!

Bex, apologies in advance if I sound like an old woman (what am I talking about, I AM an old woman!), and I am sure you already know this, please wear safety glasses when doing tile work.
I deal with a lot of safety issues at work and it drives me nuts when people in home and garden TV shows sometimes have no eye protection, no hearing protection, and absolutely nothing while going about the various projects.

Whoot whooooooooo!
I was just discussing the extra paycheck with my hubbie yesterday. We decided we are going to put money aside and buy a new computer. It's well overdo and I am going to the library a lot for basic computer needs. With my being laid off its something I am feeling is a strong desire (not need - but want) but since we can stash cash for it - we can get it. I am so excited !
WTG! A new computer is definately on my wants (not needs) list. Mine won't even turn on anymore so I have to rely on bf's and work (probably for the best anyway).
As for the third pay, while its super exciting and I love it, because I pay so many bills bi weekly, it really doesn't have as HUGE of an impact as I would like. BUT its still something! Yay!

Hey Norma! You sure could do it on your own. Its actually pretty easy. The only caution I have is to make sure the subfloor is properly prepared. In my case, my townhouse is 10 years old and the builders prepared all the subfloors for tile (since there were so many townhouses being built, I guess they didn't know who would choose ceramics). They have great materials out now that make strengthening the subfloor easy and cheap!!!
Hope Depot often has free classes that you can attend where they who you how to do it (this is how I learned).

I work for a contractor, and I ask him what surface would be best for what I was wanting to accompolish.

Sounds like you are moving forward fast!
My 3 paycheck months are May and October, so next month I will be flaking more.
I would love to even just wash my kitchen floor!
You should be able to do really well on a computer right now.
I get paid weekly, so it's my 5 paycheck month!
