Anyone want to share their goals for the month? Are you hoping to save a little, snowflake, or even pay off a debt? Sometimes, holding your own is a reasonable goal too. Please share!
-- pay dentist $220 for a crown I need done. I'm sure I still owe him about $400 for dental work that's been done last month but I will pay him $110 per visit I go to and then he can bill me from there.
--save $1,000 for a computer (already have $500 aside from the check we got today)
--pay $2,200 on last remaining credit card (this will leave about a $1,600 balance on the card)
--find my DH some workout / lounge pants for his b-day. Hoping to get these at the Nike outlet. DH is 6'8" so its hard to find pants long enough to fit him.
1. Pay my mortgage ON TIME. 2. Put $100 into my Christmas fund. 3. Flake as much as possible to my eFund. 4. Get some part-time/additional income coming in.
Ohhh good post. I have sooooo much running through my mind right now.
--Finish BTS shopping and get their back packs organized etc so they are ready to head out the door(Sept 9 Yeah!!). I am pretty much done but one of my kids needs some pants and I need him to try them on. Then bill my ex for the summer as I have paid for camps, swimming lessons, BTS shopping etc. So he will pay half. We did this last year and it worked out fine. I should make him pay more than half since I do all the organizing and all the shopping but I will let it slide I suppose as he will take the kids if I have to work etc. It has been working for us.
--BF and I have been paying cash for some bills that we rolled from change and I need to get a final number together so we can put a big snow flake on his student loan. I am excited about this because the sooner we pay that off the sooner we start saving for a house. I was feeling sad about it the other day(not being able to save for it) so I put another $50 into the house savings fund to make myself feel better. It did. It isn't much but as long as that number goes up I will probably be ok. I know I would be really sad with a house payment and a student loan payment so this is the way I need to handle it. If we get extra money it goes on the student loan and I need to think that gets me closer to my goal and it does just not directly. One day...........
--I need to organize my Sept snow flake for my land and building (ticker) Sales are holding steady so far this month and it is supposed to be hot for this coming long weekend so I am hoping the sales will be good.
--I should pick out some picture frames for Christmas presents and get them wrapped, then I will be less stressed for the holiday season, maybe when DS is trying on pants? I need to think of something to get my bf for Christmas.
--I need to relax and destress--I have Friday, Saturday, Sunday(I will need to come in for a little bit and do some ordering though) off and only have to work monday and tuesday morning so I should get a chance. I need to get in my garden, get my house organized, go for some walks and watch some good movies. Perhaps a bath?
That is all I can think of right now. I'm sure there is more.
I haven't been feeling very financially fit, but I did manage to pay half of my Discover card today and plan to pay that off next month. They are raising our rate to 19.99% for no reason beginning in November. We just can't play that game any longer.
I still have a couple bills to pay, but think I can add a little to the efund, so things are on track for now.

There are several items on my list this month, and I've done many of them already.
1. Pull free credit report for myself (done)
2. Start a "Car Fund" and an "Italy Fund" with ING Direct (done)
3. Balance checkbook (tonight)
4. Sign my second car over to DD now that she's out of college and working full time (this will save me $60/month in insurance)
5. Help DD pull her free credit report to make sure her student loans are listed correctly (done)
6. Help DD set up a budget (we've started)
7. Help DD start a "Wedding Fund" with ING Direct (done)

Bumping this up for the end of the month.
How did you all do with your goals this month?
I haven't been feeling very financially fit, but I did manage to pay half of my Discover card today and plan to pay that off next month. They are raising our rate to 19.99% for no reason beginning in November. We just can't play that game any longer.
I still have a couple bills to pay, but think I can add a little to the efund, so things are on track for now.
Anyone else want to share?
