We've been struggling lately. One thing after another, the washer, the car, the mortgage getting late, my piano lessons waning because of summer vacations, small trips we took this summer, a wedding I was going to do getting canceled. Just little things that added up to getting behind on bills and feeling overwhelmed. Dh got a call from his old job a few weeks ago. When he left that job, he left with the understanding that he could still come back on a part time basis and help them out when they needed it. After a debacle with some union dues that they took out of his check without him knowing they were going to do it, they stopped calling and we pretty much thought that job was done. A few weeks ago they called and said they needed help so DH decided to go and let bygones be bygones and make some extra money. Last week he worked 2 days and got payed $357 dollars. Not too bad! He worked yesterday as well and talked to the boss. The boss said they could use him pretty much whenever he was available for September and closer to the holidays. This is excellent news because all this extra money is ear marked for my emergnecy fund and once I get that funded in a few weeks we'll be able to save the rest to get our mortgage back on track, possibly fix our washer and start saving for a car! A few weeks ago I had no idea how we were going to accomplish all of this and I was pretty much stumped so I started praying about it and DH's old job calls out of nowhere offering him a basically what equates to a part time job. It's just strange how life works out, how things like extra money when you need it can get you out of a tight bind. I am thankful! And my light at the end of my tunnel is getting brighter!

Again, God helps those who help THEMSELVES!

Excellent news, Abbie.

Hey, I know you already do this, but be sure your DH is taken care of during these days of full time work and a second job. I know I always put special notes in my Dh's lunch just saying how much I appreciate him, give him extra snuggles in the AM and take care of his every need as I know how hard he is working away.

Men don't need much! A little appreciation, a great meal and that other thing! lol

Hey Abby that is great news! I am so happy for you guys.

My bf was helping neighbors farm all long weekend. He worked so much. That is awesome as we will continue to use that extra cash money(although he probably won't get paid for it until November which is ok) for groceries and bills so we can put money toward his student loan repayment. I am so excited our house building goal is getting closer. The sooner this student loan is out of the way the better. It is still going to take awhile (couple of years) but I know we can do this! I work extra too at my store if I don't have the kids as well so I don't have to pay as much in salaries. I can see the light at the end of the tunnel as well!

I did make him food and baked snacks and got his coffee ready in the morning. I have also promised a back rub tonight. He really does deserve it.

I hope the extra work keeps coming in.

It seems like my family was not the only one receiving a little "extra" help last week.
