We did great all summer working on the debt, have an emergency fund at 600 trying to get to 1000 before December.

More like one step forward and two steps back...for many of the same reasons.

Yes, and this year the school upped their prices on the after-school programs and it looks like my 6 year old is just starting to grow out of his pants so the clothes I thought would fit him this year, won't! I'm getting by though! I'm in the mode 'If I don't truly need it or it doesn't add value to me or my kids life... get rid of it' phase!

I agree with the one step forward and two back.

I know what you are going through. I am so glad October is a 3 pay period month for my dear BF. I was thinking I could get away with just a table and chair in my son's room for his homework station but I think I will get a desk and a lamp. Both will be inexpensive. I want him to feel encouraged to work with a new space!! Plus the table I had in mind we already have won't fit LOL! I am kicking myself for not realizing this a need instead of a want. Except that I want to NOT buy it. Oh well, gotta bite it on this one. At least we won't have to put it on the cc as we have cash but I was planning on using the cash for groceries and a bill then put our income into my little savings plan to put a big lump sum on bfs student loan. I guess things get set back a bit but only temporarily! We will rebound at some point!

This never ending job does get tiresome! My feet are sore!

Feeling the same way. Ds grew so he needed new pants and shoes and some long sleeve shirts.

Vet appointment is tomorrow. OUCH!

I'm hoping that next month is better.

Goal for the rest of this year is to save up the remaining $ amount for ds's online classes. $1920

It won't get any better as they get older.
