Good for you on not clicking!! I always try to think of silly ways to justify not buying things. This is what immediately came to mind after reading your post:
You could use your new Vera bag for the roof to leak into in the living room.(I know not funny, but it helps put things (and priorities) into perspective for me anyway. Now you don't have to do this and you can use a pot you already have. This won't happen because you already know you need it and are working on ways to get it(I know you!!)
I have a suggestion for you. I know you do this to some degree with your general savings and your Christmas club but how about breaking up your savings a little more? Do you have a house maintenance line in your budget? I throw a certain amount into my savings every month for that reason alone. Something will always need replacing or fixing in a home. It helps to break things up because when you need the the money. It is there.
I am not saying you can't pull it out when things happen(switching jobs) you do what you need to do. But, going forward it is more organized and less stressful.
This works for me. I am so excited you are going regular pay checks baby!! Congrats!!!
Oh I almost forgot something else I wanted to say.
I know you are counting down your bk payments. As of tomorrow my bf and I will be 3 months into paying off our car. I thought I was the only one with a large count down like that as we have 33 months left to go. Now I don't feel alone or like such a dork!!
I am so excited for you to get DH's paycheck! I am not familiar with BK. Will you be allowed to keep some of the increase or will it all go to creditors?
