*sigh*

Things were going along so well last week, and then I got caught with a suprise.

My dad pays off my student loans for me. It was an agreement we had when he cashed in some of my savings bonds during the divorce from my mom. He told me to take out the loans I needed and he would make the payments. They are $500 a month. I don't count them in my budget because he just pays them.

He called me yesterday and said that he doesn't think he will be able to make them temporarily and I will need to pick them up starting in October. I can do it, it just means slowing down on my snowball (I was paying $650 a month toward my car and an extra amount towards appliances. I will have to lower my car payment and not pay anything on the appliances and pay the whole thing off with my tax return).

Oh Bex this a terrible kick in the pants. It makes my problem about the corporate tax seem so silly now. You are taking it really well. I'm sure your dad would pay it if he could. My bf is 37 and just finished school about a year and a half ago. His loans were 38,000, and we now have them down 25,000. We are trying to fast track them but it is hard. At least you are younger and have some more time. You will get this all worked out and worked in to your budget. I'm so sorry you have the added stress right now. Hang in there. I'm thinking of you.

Thanks for the kind words ladies. It looks like it may have been a false alarm and he thinks he can continue paying. It was definately the motivation I need to get this situation under control AND FAST.

It was definately the scare I needed to get it together so to speak. I am more focused now then ever and can't wait to put a big dent in this debt!! First thing though is to focus on increasing the efund. I need to get it to a place where it can handle unexpected bills such as this!!!
