By taking another look at my cell phone bill. I've been noticing each month that we never use our roll-over minutes. In fact, we are constantly putting new minutes in. This month we rolled over 246 minutes. So I called and got on a smaller plan. It will be a cutting it a little close, but I'll just have to keep better track of how many minutes we use. YAY! On the other hand though, I had to up my electricity bill. I'm on a budget plan that keeps my bill the same each month by averaging my usage and I've noticed that I've gone over by at least 30 dollars each month. Sometimes, I've gone over by $50 dollars! I didn't want to get hit with a huge bill at the end of the year, so I had them change the amount I pay each month. What I've learned since coming to this board is that you have to be proactive about your bills. If there's a charge that's wrong, fix it. If the bill is too high and you can lower it, do! It has saved me a TON of money this year!

Nice! $10 is $10 bucks. If you are not using it, why spend the cash on the service.

You just reminded me. I upped my deductible to $1000 on my house insurance and went down to 80% coverage. If we build new I would go the fully amount for the insurance. The amount of what the house is insured for is about what we are planning to spend for a new one anyway. It is going to save us $30 a month. And that will go to new house savings(maybe indirectly--student loan flakes which gets us to our new house savings goal faster)!!
