I have been posting on the budgeting board but think this board seems a little busier.

Aw, Corolla! That's really close to us by boat. If we take the road, we have to go ALL the way down to the Wright Memorial Bridge and then back up north. It takes 2 hours by car! (30 mins by boat). That said, they have the same weather we do, LOL. Expect highs in the mid 70s through mid-80s for October, and lows in the 60s or sometimes 50s. It's just BEAUTIFUL. Here's a link to the 10-day if you want to see for yourself. =c)

Sarah, thanks for the info. I am a little worried that it is gonna be chillier than what we are used to for our Ocober vacation. I am hoping the heated pool will make it more like a "summer vacation", since we will NOT be getting in the ocean! All I ask is that at least a few days are warm enough that we can hang out on the beach for hours and be comfy! Thanks again!
So, are you in NC or VA? Just curious, as I said, I am not very familiar with the OBX.
I think you'll be fine! Especially with the heated pool. Of course, DH and I were in the water up to our knees in Feb one year, LOL. Unless we have a cold snap, you should be fine. I know our weather on the coast is weird and you're not that far away, but it's not unusual for it to hit the 70s here all the way into December. Actually, a couple of years ago the first week of Jan was in the 70s!
I'm actually in VA, wedged in the corner between NC and the Atlantic. We live right off the northernmost Currituck Sound so needless to say the water route is MUCH faster than the land route, LOL. Going all the way south to the WM bridge only to have to drive back up the islands to pretty much where we started is a pain - by water, it's a straight shot! Of course, it's part of the charm. =c) We're about 15 mins from Sandbridge in Va Beach but we almost always take our beach trips to the Outer Banks, even if we're just going for the day. It's just SO much nicer there!
