Cheap Halloween costume ideas for adults

We've been invited to a halloween party and DH is looking at all of these expensive costumes. I, personally don't even want to dress up, but I guess you are supposed to and I've been trying to come up with some cheap costume ideas. I need to go to the thrift store and see what I can find there. Any other ideas on costumes for adults?

Hi, Abigail,
The cheap foolproof costume from around here was to go as a gypsy.......put on all your jewelry and scarves with a flowy skirt, and you're all set.

You can get a cheap head band with little ears on it at the dollar store. Where all black. Put black eye liner on your nose, whiskers on your cheeks and lots of black mascara and red lip stick. Instant kitty. Meowww!
Ditto, but I was a bunny one year.

I love all the ideas! I sometimes have an issue getting things for myself because I'm a plus size but I'm going to see what I can find at the thrift store!
And Norma...you gave me a great idea for my birthday party. I reread your email and you mentioned church function room. My own church has a huge function room. DUH! I don't know if it can work out this year because the original party I booked and sent all the invites for is in a different town and I'd have to have people drive another half hour to get to my church. I'd feel bad for doing that and to be honest, there might be a function there already because it's a pretty busy church, but for next year...I'm on for the cheaper birthday party!!! I don't know why I didn't think of that in the first place.
